My Digipak Front Cover

My Digipak Front Cover

This is Nearly how my Digipak cover is going to look like

Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop is a graphics editing program developed and published by Adobe Systems.
Adobe's 2003 "Creative Suite" rebranding led to Adobe Photoshop 8's renaming to Adobe Photoshop CS. Thus, Adobe Photoshop CS5 is the 12th major release of Adobe Photoshop. The CS rebranding also resulted in Adobe offering numerous software packages containing multiple Adobe programs for a reduced price. There are two versions of Photoshop: Basic and Extended, with Extended having extra features available. Adobe Photoshop Extended is included in all of Adobe's Creative Suite offerings except Design Standard, which has the Basic version.

Generic Conventions Of Music Videos

Camera Shots:
Music videos tend to include many long shots, close ups and mid shots. This is to create emphasis on the artist, location and emotions. Also, close ups are used not only to show emotions but to reflect the words of the song with the movement of the lips of the artist.

Camera Movement:
The movement of the camera is used to follow and trace the artist or band. Camera movements include tilts, pans, tracking and crane shots.

Mise-en-scene:
This refers to the arrangement of performers and propr on stage or in a scene for a production of a music video or any other media text. Mise-en-scene puts importance on the representation of something.

Editing:
Jump cuts is the predominant editing technique used in music videos. This is because this allows a sudden change from one scene to another. Similarly, transitions such as fade and dissolve are very common in music videos as they create a different effect to cuts.

Lighting:
Some music videos are black and white which help emphasise a particular mood and some videos have artificial lighting which put the artist in an enhanced look.

Sound:
Sound is mainly the vocals or the song but in some cases such as Michael Jackson - Thriller, the producers can make the music video into a short film.

Props:
These are vital in aiding to add to the scene and create significance on particular objects or people.

Panasonic Handicam

PANASONIC HANDYCAM
A camcorder is an electronic device that combines a video camera and a video recorder into one unit. In order to differentiate a camcorder from other devices that are capable of recording video, like cell phones and compact digital cameras, a camcorder is generally identified as a portable device having video capture and recording as its primary function. The earliest camcorders employed analog recording onto videotape. Since the 1990s digital recording has become the norm, but tape remained the primary recording media. Starting from early 2000s tape is being gradually replaced with other storage media including optical disks, hard disk drives and flash memory.

Flip Video

The Flip Video is a camcorder for digital video created by Pure Digital Technologies,a company bought by Cisco Systems in March 2009.Variants include the Ultra and UltraHD, the MinoHD,and the SlideHD.

FEATURES

The standard definition Flip camcorders record in 640x480 resolution at 30 frames per second, using the MPEG-4 ASP video compression. The high definition versions record at 1280 x 720 resolution using H.264 video compression, AAC audio compression and the MP4 file format.

I've used this  camcorder for Most of my Music Video A2 Media Studies Project. It's a good camcorder and the risolution is incredibly amazing, it is also simple to use and with the USB attachment very easy to plub in a computer and start editing.

This Is The Music Video That I Just Made This Weekend

Final Cut Pro is a professional non-linear editing software application developed by Macromedia Inc. and then Apple Inc. Final Cut Pro 7 runs on Mac personal computers powered by Mac OS X version 10.5.6 or later and using Intel processors. It is a module of the Final Cut Studio product. The software allows users to log and capture video onto a hard drive (internal or external), where it can be edited, processed, and output to a wide variety of formats.
From the early 2000s, Final Cut Pro began to develop a large and expanding user base, mainly comprised of video hobbyists and independent filmmakers. It has, in latter years especially, made inroads with film and television editors who have traditionally used Avid Technology's Media Composer. According to a 2007 SCRI study, Final Cut made up 49% of the US professional editing market, with Avid at 22%. A published Survey in 2008 by the American Cinema Editors Guild placed their users at 21% FCP (and growing from previous surveys of this group), while all others are still on an Avid system of some kind.

Mixing console

Mixing console

In professional audio, a mixing console, or audio mixer, also called a sound board, soundboard, mixing desk, or mixer is an electronic device for combining (also called "mixing"), routing, and changing the level, timbre and/or dynamics of audio signals. A mixer can mix analog or digital signals, depending on the type of mixer. The modified signals (voltages or digital samples) are summed to produce the combined output signals.
Mixing consoles are used in many applications, including recording studios, public address systems, sound reinforcement systems, broadcasting, television, and film post-production. An example of a simple application would be to enable the signals that originated from two separate microphones (each being used by vocalists singing a duet, perhaps) to be heard through one set of speakers simultaneously. When used for live performances, the signal produced by the mixer will usually be sent directly to an amplifier, unless that particular mixer is "powered" or it is being connected to powered speakers.

Structure

A typical analog mixing board has three sections:
  • Channel inputs
  • Master controls
  • Audio level metering
The channel inputs are replicated monaural or stereo input channels with pre-amp controls, channel fader and pan, sub-group assignment, equalization and auxiliary mixing bus level controls. The master control section has sub-group faders, master faders, master auxiliary mixing bus level controls and auxiliary return level controls. In addition it may have solo monitoring controls, a stage talk-back microphone control, muting controls and an output matrix mixer. On smaller mixers the inputs are on the left of the mixing board and the master controls are on the right. In larger mixers, the master controls are in the center with inputs on both sides. The audio level meters may be above the input and master sections or they may be integrated into the input and master sections themselves.

Virtual mixing

Increasingly, the mixing process can be performed on screen, using computer software and associated input, output and recording hardware. The traditional large control surface of the mixing console is not utilized, saving space at the engineer's mix position. Some virtual mixing (such as the Gamble DCX) uses digital controls of analog audio circuitry, but most virtual mixers are fully digital so as to save cost and physical space. In the virtual studio, there is either no normal mixer fader bank at all or there is a compact group of motorized faders designed to fit into a small space and connected to the computer via USB or Firewire. Many project studios use such a space-efficient solution, as the mixing room at other times can serve as business office, media archival, etc. Virtual mixing is heavily integrated as part of a digital audio workstation.

House music

House is a style of electronic dance music that originated in Chicago, Illinois, USA in the early 1980s. It was initially popularized in mid-1980s discothèques catering to the African-American, Latino American, and gay communities; first in Chicago, then in Detroit, New York City, New Jersey, Los Angeles and Miami. It then reached Europe before becoming infused in mainstream pop and dance music worldwide since the early to mid-1990s.
House is strongly influenced by elements of soul- and funk-infused varieties of disco. House generally mimics disco's percussion, especially the use of a prominent bass drum on every beat, but may feature a prominent synthesizer bassline, electronic drums, electronic effects, funk and pop samples, and reverb- or delay-enhanced vocals.

Steps for how to Design an Album Cover

1.Brainstorm design ideas for the album artwork on a separate sheet of paper or on illustrator software. Choose designs that complement the music. Turn on the album and sketch out some initial concepts while using the music to inspire your ideas for the design. Use different colors, shapes and styles that illustrate what you want the overall album to look like.

2.Find stock images online at websites such as Flickr.com and upload them to your design software. Use these as a general basis for the album design. Play around with altering the colors and layout, and determine where you might want the title to go. Make sure if you are going to sell this album that you have permission to use the image for retail purposes.

3.Learn the software basics for the program you are going to use if you have not done so yet. Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator are simple to use and provide a host of professional tools that allow you to add layers, filters and cool effects to your basic design in order to personalize the album cover. Thirty-day free trials of these rather expensive programs are available at adobe.com.

4.Tinker with all of the design elements, using your original sketches as the basis for the final product. Add images that reflect the music, or even just ones that catch your attention and might look good. Consider whether you want to put a track listing on the inside of the back of the CD case of if you would rather have the art wrap entirely around the case. Play with the fonts for the wording until you find one you like.

5.Finalize the draft of your album cover by making one final sketch layout of where everything will go and how you want the final design to look. Go back into your image manipulation program and add finishing touches to every element of the design.

6.Once the draft is finalized determine the final settings and ensure that the sizing and spacing of the images and words match up with the CD case. Take extra care to line up the spine of the album art with where it will fall in the jewel CD case.

7. Print a hard copy of your design using a good ink jet or laser jet printer and double check it for any flaws or issues that may have gone unnoticed until now. If you notice any, simply go back into your image design software and correct them now. Once you have the issues fixed, print out your completed album art, slip it into the jewel CD case and show it off.

8. If you would like to add your personalized album artwork to your iTunes digital music collection, save a separate file of the completed artwork. Crop it so that only the front album art work is showing, and save this file as a .jpg or .gif file. Finally, open iTunes, select the album you would like to edit and add the artwork to the album's information.

Designing Cover Art

Designing cover art for a music album used to require time, patience, someone well-versed in art and design, and a way of printing the design onto the album itself. New technology now allows anyone with an idea and a computer the opportunity to see their designs become actual album artwork for absolutely no cost. Whether you are coming up with a design for your band's first album or simply would like to personalize your music collection with unique album artwork, making your own album cover is now cheap, easy and lots of fun to do.

Music Video Definition

A music video is a short film or video that accompanies a complete piece of music/song. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. Although the origins of music videos go back much further, they came into their own in the 1980s, when MTV based their format around the medium, and later with the launch of VH1. The term "music video" first came into popular usage in the early 1980s. Prior to that time, these works were described by various terms including "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional (promo) clip" or "film clip". In Chinese entertainment, music videos were simply known as MTVs because the network was responsible for bringing music videos to popularity in that country. Music videos are now known as MVs in Chinese entertainment.
Music videos use a wide range of styles of film making techniques, including animation, live action filming, documentaries, and non-narrative approaches such as abstract film. Some music videos blend different styles, such as animation and live action. Many music videos do not interpret images from the song's lyrics, making it less literal than expected

Music Video

Music Video videotaped performance of a recorded popular song, usually accompanied by dance or a fragmentary story and sometimes employing concert footage. Typically three to five minutes long, music videos frequently include quick cuts, stylizations, fanciful and often erotic imagery, and computer graphics. Originally vehicles for promoting singles, most music videos are in the rock idiom. Although many examples of the genre feature the macho rock stars and scantily clad dancers that have become cultural clichés, certain music videos are notable for their cutting-edge techniques and artistic innovations, and some of their directors have achieved auteur status.

The music video form was popularized by the MTV cable network (est. 1981) and began to have wide popularity and influence in the early 1980s. By the 1990s many hundreds of videos, representing a cross-section of musical forms—from traditional to experimental rock, heavy metal to hip hop—were being produced yearly. Although music videos have usually been aimed at a teenage audience, many videos of ballads or "soft rock" songs are now directed at an older group of viewers. Since shortly after their inception, the style and content of music videos have strongly influenced advertising, television, film, and popular culture as a whole.

Original Sweet Disposition Album Cover by Temper Trap

THIS IS THE ORIGINAL ALBUM COVER USED BY TEMPER TRAP FOR THE SONG SWEET DISPOSITION, IT'S A SIMPLE IMAGE OF A PERSON LIPS TO SHOW AN INTENSE INTEREST IN SEXUALITY AND CHARM

Axwell - I Found You

Thank god I found you
I never really had a love
Sent from heaven up above
I'm just so happy because
Thank god I found you

Everybody wanna know
Why I'm walking round with a big smile on my face
Hey I'm happy and it shows
Hey I'm back and I'm part of a human race
Cos you know I've been down so long
Never thought I'd ever feel this way again
And everything was going wrong
Til you found me and you make me believe again

I never really had a love (til I found you)
Sent from heaven up above (and it's so true)
I'm so happy just because (I found you)
Damn I'm happy that I found you
I never really had a love (til I found you)
Sent from heaven up above (and it's so true)
I'm so happy just because (I found you)
Yoo-oo-oo-oou!

I don't know what you did
But what you did you can keep on doing it yeah
I'm so happy I wanna fly
Cos your love just keeps on taking me higher
Don't you know I've been down so long (down so long)
Never thought I'd ever feel this way again
And everything was going wrong (going wrong)
Til you found me and you make me believe again

Sweet Disposition Lyrics

Sweet Disposition - Axwell & Dirty South

Never too soon
oh reckless abandon
like no one's
watching you

a moment, a love
a dream, a laugh
a kiss, a cry
our rights, our wrongs
a moment, a love
a dream, a laugh
a moment, a love
a dream, a laugh

just stay there
cause i'll be comin over
and while our bloods still young
it's so young
it runs
and we won't stop til it's over
won't stop to surrender

songs of desperation
I played them for you
a moment, a love
a dream, a laugh
a kiss, a cry
our rights, our wrongs
a moment, a love
a dream, a laugh
a moment, a love
a dream, a laugh

just stay there
cause i'll be comin over
and while our bloods still young
it's so young
it runs
and we won't stop til it's over
won't stop to surrender

a moment, a love
a dream, a laugh
a kiss, a cry
our rights, our wrongs (won't stop til it's over)
a moment, a love
a dream, a laugh
a kiss, a cry
our rights, our wrongs(won't stop til it's over)

Axwell - Nothing But Love (New Release)

You can see me walking down the street
I’ve got nothing but love for you
Even if you’re trying to diss me
I’ve got nothing but love for you
It don’t matter if I’m riding high or low
I’ve got nothing but love for you
No matter where I’m about to go
I’ve got nothing but love for you
I got nothing but love for you
I got nothing but love for you
I got nothing but love for you
I got nothing but love for you
We may have a different point of view
I’ve got nothing but love for you
I don’t care if it ain’t the same to me
I’ve got nothing but love for you
If I see you riding high and low
I’ve got nothing but love for you
It don’t matter what you say or do
I’ve got nothing but love for you

Swedish House Mafia

The unstoppable Swedish House Mafia trio of Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Axwell flew straight to No.1 on Beatport this week, with the aptly titled single ‘One’.
Believe it or not, ‘One’ is the first track the supergroup have released together under the Swedish House Mafia name and its success is yet further proof that they are one of the biggest acts in dance music today, on the brink of mainstream recognition.
The Swedish House Mafia recently signed to major label EMI, and ‘One’ was the highlight of their headline performance in front of 50,000 clubbers at Miami’s Ultra Festival during the Winter Music Conference at the end of March

The track is the Swedish House Mafia’s second successive post-WMC No.1 Beatport single, and it is also the fastest selling single on Beatport this year.
The arena sized progressive house cut, which has hints of trance and electro house, is perfectly suited to mainrooms and big crowds, and is unmistakably by the Swedish stars.

Sweet Disposition - Axwell & Dirty South (Remix)

The original version somehow reminds me of U2, Radiohead, and Coldplay, yet having that distinct element that separates “Sweet Disposition” from what the three bands have made. After my first time of sampling the song, I can really remember the drum patterns, most especially the snare beats, as well as the nostalgic vocals planted in the track. Lastly, “Sweet Disposition” is one of those tracks that I would listen to when I recall memories from the good old days.

I was actually surprised to see a remix done by both Axwell and Dirty South, two of the biggest names in the house and electro-house music scenes respectively. If you do not know what I am talking about, try making a web-search on their names.
Continuing, the Axwell & Dirty South remix on “Sweet Disposition” is very infectious, yes remember that adjective—infectious. Although less vocal elements are present compared to the original, this atmospheric remix contains sublime synth-patterns that are quite difficult to get rid from your system, once again, contagious.
If you’re keen enough, you will notice that the same riff plays over and over again throughout the song, but this remix is so consistent that each measure brings more energy to its listeners.
Going progressive house, Morgan Page shapes “Sweet Disposition” into a more upbeat track for dance-floors. Compared to Axwell & Dirty South’s remix, Morgan’s remix retains more vocal elements from the original track, complementing the sun-drenched melodies.
For listeners who crave for that electronic dance energy at daytime, this is the remix for you.
